Relationships Are the Cornerstone of Everything We Do
At Willis, Willis & Rizzi the relationship between an attorney and a client is the cornerstone of everything we do. While that may sound obvious, there are many personal injury attorneys and law firms out there that don’t conduct themselves with that belief.
For instance, many personal injury law firms are going to be putting you in front of a paralegal or an intake department before you decide whether to hire that law firm. And, in many cases, you may not even meet an attorney before you are being asked to sign a series of documents committing yourself to that law firm.
At Willis, Willis & Rizzi that is not the way we do things. We want to meet you and figure out if this is going to be a productive relationship between you and us. We want to understand what happened to you, how that has impacted your life, your job, your family. What that means is you are sitting down with a personal injury attorney in your initial meeting. And prior to that, you have probably spent some quality time on the phone with one of our attorneys before you even visit our office. This contrasts with other law firms you may be considering where you are likely on the phone with a series of non-attorneys.
The reason we find this so important is that it guides how we get to the most successful outcome in that case. Everyone’s journey is different. And, while it is simple to say “we are going to get you the most we can” there is really more to it than that. We don’t know how to get the most we can for you until we understand how it has affected your life.
For instance, we have had clients where we have had to go to their work site. And that is not a paralegal, that is one of our attorneys going to your work site to investigate how this injury might be impacting your ability to continue to perform your job and earn income for your family.
And so, our approach is, we want to know our client to better know the case. And that guides everything.
How long and how much?
The two biggest questions we get asked here at Willis, Willis & Rizzi come down to “How long and how much?”. There are a lot of questions that feed into how long this is going to take and how much we are talking about. It really depends on each client. Some clients are more concerned with how long rather than how much.
Many clients are more concerned about what this case is going to do to impact their life and potentially disrupt their work schedule or their family life. So, we want to be an open book on what this process may mean to you. There are two large chapters which include a pre-litigation chapter where we are trying to get the case resolved without filing a lawsuit, and then what does it mean to you if we must file a lawsuit, how does that change the timeline? People receive this information differently depending on what is going on in their life. You may be getting ready to move, you may be getting ready to marry off a child or send a child off to college.
The more we know about how those answers are being received by the client in terms of how long this is going to take and how much we are talking about, the better able the team at Willis, Willis & Rizzi is able to serve you.
One thing we often say is “if we take care of the clients, the clients will take care of us.” We believe that the relationship is the cornerstone of a successful outcome not just for our clients, but a successful outcome for our firm as well. We are a team, we work together. The more successful outcome we get for you is the more successful outcome that we obtain.
This isn’t just a bunch of talk about taking care of a client. This is something that if we work together as a team, we both succeed. At Willis, Willis & Rizzi we don’t view a client as someone at the other end of a business transaction, they are a teammate that we are going shoulder-to-shoulder with, marching forward for a successful outcome.
